The Sporting d'Hiver was built in 1932 by the Société des Bains de Mer with the purpose of livening up the heart of Monte Carlo. It originally housed a nightclub, gaming rooms and a restaurant and was a very popular spot for the elite until 1974 when, due to the opening of the Sporting d'Eté, it ceased these original activities and became an exhibition hall. It benefits from a central location close to the famous Hotel Hermitage, Hotel de Paris and the Casino de Monte Carlo.
